Analytics in Kantan CMS

Overview

Kantan CMS integrates with Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to provide comprehensive website analytics directly within your CMS dashboard. This integration allows you to monitor your website's performance, track visitor behavior, and make data-driven decisions without leaving the Kantan CMS interface.

With the Analytics integration, you can:

Setting Up Google Analytics Integration

Prerequisites

Before setting up the analytics integration, you need:

  • An active Google Analytics 4 (GA4) property for your website
  • Admin access to your Google Analytics account
  • Your GA4 property ID (a number in the format G-XXXXXXXX)

Step 1: Configure Your GA4 Property

  1. Add GA4 tracking to your website

    • Implement the GA4 tracking code on your website
    • This can be done manually or through Google Tag Manager
    • Ensure the tracking code is present on all pages you want to track
  2. Set up necessary GA4 configurations

    • Configure any custom events or conversions you want to track
    • Set up appropriate data streams for your website
    • Verify that data is being collected correctly

Step 2: Grant Access to Kantan CMS

Kantan CMS needs read access to your GA4 property to display analytics data:

  1. Go to your Google Analytics Admin section
  2. Navigate to the Account Access Management or Property Access Management
  3. Add a new user with the email: ga4-reader@kantan-cms-prod.iam.gserviceaccount.com
  4. Grant this user "Reader" permissions only
  5. Save the changes

Step 3: Configure Analytics in Kantan CMS

  1. In your Kantan CMS project, navigate to Settings > Google Analytics
  2. Enter your GA4 Property ID (the number in format G-XXXXXXXX)
  3. Click "Save" to store your configuration
  4. Kantan CMS will verify the connection to your GA4 property
  5. Once verified, you can access analytics data from your dashboard

Accessing Analytics Dashboard

To view your analytics data:

  1. Navigate to the Dashboard section of your project
  2. Select the "Analytics" tab
  3. The analytics dashboard will display key metrics and visualizations
